Fluentgrid Wins ATPM project from MPPKVVCL, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh

Fluentgrid got the mandate from Madhya Pradesh Poorv Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Ltd. (MPPKVVCL), Jabalpur for “collection of electricity bills payment through Any Time Payment Machines (ATPM)” for a period of two years. This is the first time, Fluentgrid will be deploying more than 100+ ATPM’s in a single DISCOM. This is in line with the Utility’s focus to deploy 101 ATPM’s in keeping the convenience of the customer in mind and in line with the transparency of collections and ease of accounting from the utility’s perspective.

Brief about MPPKVVCL: Madhya Pradesh Poorv Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited (MPPKVVCL) is one of the state government-controlled power distribution company formed out of the unbundling of Madhya Pradesh state electricity board in 2005, as a part of the MP power sector reforms. MPPKVVCL entrusted with the license for sub-transmission and distribution of electric power in the designated areas within the state of Madhya Pradesh covering the circles of Jabalpur (City), Jabalpur (O&M), Mandla, Narsinghpur, Seoni, Katni, and Chhindwara.

Brief about Jabalpur: Jabalpur is a tier 2 city in the state of Madhya Pradesh and it is India’s 37th-largest urban agglomeration. Historically, a center of the Kalachuri and Gond dynasties, the city developed a syncretic culture influenced by intermittent Mughal and Maratha rule. During the early nineteenth century, it was annexed by British India as Jubbulpore and incorporated as a cantonment town. The city is also home to the gun carriage factory. Jabalpur has been selected as one of the hundred Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under Smart Cities Mission. Bhedaghat is a unique place where one can see huge mountains of marble and a beautiful waterfall.

Project background: Collection efficiencies are very important for any business. Improving and maintaining collection efficiencies for a utility is very challenging. Hence, customers should be provided with multiple payment options that are convenient for them. In this context, MPPKVVCL intends to outsource the collection of electricity bills through Any Time Bill Payment Machines (ATPM) / any other electronic device on wallet model at various locations under the jurisdiction of MPPKVVCL, Jabalpur for two years and renewed thereafter. This scope of the project includes the design & development of ATPM software with integration to MPPKVVCL billing solution, deployment, operations and maintenance of ATMs under the jurisdiction of MPPKVVCL for collection of electricity bills using the pre-paid wallet system.
