Kochi Smart City Command and Control Center Inaugurated

Cochin Smart City Mission Limited(CSML) integrated command and control communication center (IC4) was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan on 8th June 2020 in the presence of Minister for Local Self Government, Shri A.C. Moideen, Shri Hibi Eden – Member of Parliament, Smt. Soumini Jain, Mayor, Kochi Municipal Corporation, Shri. P. T. Thomas, MLA, Shri. T. J. Vinod, MLA, Dr. Vishwas Mehta, Chief Secretary for Govt. of Kerala, Shri Alkesh Kumar Sharma IAS, Additional Chief Secretary – Special Projects & CEO, CSML, Shri V. S. Senthil IAS, Principal Secretary to CM, District Collector Shri. Suhas S IAS, Shri. Vijay Sakare IPS, IG & Police Commissioner, Kochi and other officials.

Kochi is among the first 20 cities selected under Government of India’s Smart Cities Mission. The National Smart Cities Mission is an urban renewal and retrofitting program by the Government of India with the mission to develop smart cities across the country, making them citizen friendly and sustainable. The Smart Cities Mission (SCM) aims to rejuvenate the prevailing urban ecosystem through Area Based Development strategies. The objective of the SCM is “to promote cities that provide core infrastructure and give a decent quality of life to its citizens, a clean and sustainable environment and application of ‘Smart’ Solutions”.

Fluentgrid as the systems integrator demonstrated the smart elements of India’s first integrated command and control communication center (IC4) which is completely deployed on cloud. The Integrated Command, Control & Communication Centre (IC4) will be the brain for city operation, exception handling, and disaster management. It also provides insights by processing complex datasets at an aggregated level to derive intelligence for improved planning and policy making. The IC4 is envisaged to aggregate information across multiple applications and sensors deployed across the city, and, then provide actionable information with appropriate visualization for decision makers.”

This will become the heart of Kochi smart city for monitoring, maintaining and addressing the needs of millions of people with quality services and facilities by bringing multiple systems together. This State of the art IC4 consists of a superior Videowall and 24-seater operator consoles for 24X7 monitoring with an adjoining war room. This is one of the best smart city command centers in India in terms of scale, infrastructure, technology and functional aspects.

The IC4 is seamlessly integrated with various smart elements & e-governance services to monitor real-time data from all the external systems such as Smart Streetlighting, Adaptive Traffic Control System, Traffic enforcement, Public Bike Sharing, Citizen Grievances, GIS Maps, Solar and Variable Messaging Display boards. IC4 Analytics platform provides actionable intelligence platform is capable of real time operations monitoring, KPI monitoring, prescriptive/predictive analytics, ad-hoc reporting and analysis, complex event processing, dashboards with interactive data visualization and maps integration. Fluentgrid Actilligence platform gives the flexibility to address emerging needs, like how we could quickly roll out epidemic response functionality to address COVID-19 situation.
