Fluentgrid featured in Navigant Research’s Global Market Analysis Report on Smart Cities

Fluentgrid offers the leading urban management platform that accelerates delivery of Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC aka City Operations Center – COC) solutions for smart cities.

Visakhapatnam, India – 22nd August 2019: Fluentgrid, a leader in transforming utilities and cities with proven products and solutions, today announced that it has been mentioned as a smart city supplier in Navigant Research’s report, Smart City Overview: Smart Technologies and Infrastructure for Urban Innovation in Government, Energy, Water, Mobility, and Buildings: Global Market Analysis and Forecasts.

Navigant Research defines a smart city platform as an integrated capability for coordinating data, applications, and services at one or more levels across operational domains for multiple stakeholders. The smart city platform combines an ambitious vision for the integration of urban information and services and the more pragmatic development of a series of foundation layers that will enable that vision.

While technology integration is core to the functioning of a smart city platform, the goal is to enable better decision-making, more responsive services, and increased operational efficiency. Above all, improved integration of city data and operations offers the possibility of addressing a series of difficult, cross-sector challenges such as congestion, air quality, public safety, emissions reduction, and social inequalities in health and other key metrics. The success of a city platform is ultimately to be measured—and any investment justified—by the ability to support such programs and not by the elegance of the technical architecture, according to Navigant Research.

Navigant Research profiled Fluentgrid as an India-based IT products and services company, providing turnkey solutions for utilities, cities, and communities globally. The company’s smart city offerings are centered around Fluentgrid Actilligence, a flexible urban platform built upon open standards and packaged functionality for easy integration. The company’s strategy is to offer a modular product that enables cities to focus on specific use cases while building out a comprehensive platform for city management.

Fluentgrid has been specifically targeting the growing demand for city command centers in India and other countries. The drive to improve city management in India, bolstered by the government’s 100 Smart Cities Mission, has put a focus on the need for unified operations centers that can modernize city governance and core services.

Its flagship smart city project is in Visakhapatnam. The city was among the first to be selected as part of India’s Smart Cities Mission. Fluentgrid deployed a centralized city operations center based on Fluentgrid Actilligence for the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation. The system connects multiple city services and providers including the smart elements on a single platform, both for peacetime operations as well as emergency response and disaster management. The company is also implementing city operations center and e-governance modules for Lucknow, Kochi, and New Delhi Municipal Corporation.

The Visakhapatnam City Operations Center, which was implemented in record time, integrates 23 different city systems including IoT based smart elements and city applications. Shortly after implementation, city wide revenue collection efficiency increased by 43% and citizen grievances response and closure rate has almost touched 99%. The COC was found to be very effective in controlling the spread of dengue fever in the city and quickly recover from Phethai cyclone.

Fluentgrid Actilligence comes pre-configured for industry leading smart city solutions from our partners across various urban domains. It also facilitates easy integration of third-party solutions and city applications with open APIs. The platform architecture is inherently scalable to ever increasing users, devices, integrations, data and processing demands of a growing city.

“Navigant Research’s market analysis rightly captures the emergence of urban management platforms at the heart of digital transformation into smart cities” stated Murali Krishna Gannamani, CEO and MD of Fluentgrid. “Fluentgrid Actilligence has emerged as an urban platform of choice for smart city transformation projects and the city administrators will now have unified view of city operations and insights into incidents impacting citizens’ quality of life.”
