Fluentgrid establishes legal presence in Kyrgyzstan

Given the increasing opportunities Fluentgrid is seeing for its mPower™ suite of products in the CIS states and to better deliver ongoing projects in Kyrgyzstan, the company recently announced establishment of legal presence through a wholly owned branch in Bishkek. In August, 2015, the mPower™ suite of products developed by Fluentgrid Limited was selected by JSC SeverElectro an electricity distribution company based out of Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

A Central Asian country of incredible natural beauty and proud nomadic traditions, Kyrgyzstan has over the past few years been focusing on achieving a long-term energy supply reliability by investing in solving structural issues prevalent in its energy sector.

With an aim to have a single centralized system addressing all the business requirements and aligning the organization to the best practices in the utility industry, mPower™ suite of products will be implemented by Fluentgrid Limited in multiple phases. This project is funded by KfW, a German government owned development bank.

In Phase 1, the implementation will be done at the Bishkek region and its 4 distribution zones and in Phase 2 it will be done at Chui and Talas regions along with 15 distribution zones.

The products from mPower™ product lines of CIS, CRM, AMI and Enterprise will ensure standardization, optimization and control of business processes ensuring adherence and accountability. Through a single system consistent data across the organization will be made available for an effective MIS.

This project will also help in reducing costs by eliminating duplication of work and having an error free system there by supporting easier decision making with instant and correct data available online.

Kyrgyzstan has over the past few years been promoting a vibrant technology sector within the country including establishment of a Park of High Technologies. As part of its efforts for localization, Fluentgrid has been hiring local resources who will now move under the local Kyrgyzstan entity and be trained in its mPower™ suite of products.

Fluentgrid empowers City Command Center for Smart Vizag

As a first step to revitalizing Vizag into a smarter and more sustainable city, Fluentgrid Limited (Formerly Phoenix IT Solutions Ltd.) helped Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) set up and launch a state-of-the-art centralized City Command Center. Connecting together for the first time, multiple vital city-level services and providers onto a single platform, the City Command Center will immediately usher in smarter and more efficient governance capabilities for GVMC, helping lay the foundation for implementing the city’s smart city agenda.

Hon’able Chief Minister of AP Sri N. Chandra Babu Naidu launched the Command Center on 25 June, 2016 at a special event in Vizag. This command center work was launched by Mr. S. P. Tucker, IAS (Chief Secretary, Government of AP) in April 2016 and our team has worked with the GVMC team to design and prototype the dashboards.

The launch of the command center indicates a large transformation initiative that will soon enable far-reaching benefits to the community as well as general improvement in city services. With the inclusion of smart street lighting dashboards, air quality monitoring, integration of the Water SCADA system for reservoir and city water distribution systems, more centralized solid waste monitoring capabilities, tools for revenue assurance and enhanced city surveillance, green maps for urban forestry monitoring and beach safety amongst others, the City Command Centre truly begins the journey in smarter city Governance. Earlier last year, the Indian government signed agreements with the Obama administration to include Vizag as one amongst the three cities that will be developed as smart cities in collaboration with various US government agencies. Building on this momentum, Vizag also ranked 8 in the 100 Smart Cities Challenge of India. It has an overwhelming 1.5 million citizens contributing to the Smart City plans to identify various city-level services and issues that they primarily wanted to be addressed for them. Fluentgrid played a key role in acting as a catalyst to increase broader citizen participation.

City Command Center leverages our time-tested mPower™ Product Suite and displays an executive dashboard with KPIs to monitor various department-level dashboards by analyzing data and AV streams emerging from a wide variety of systems. This data is analyzed and correlated with data coming from other departments to identify abnormal events, patterns and exceptions to alert the concerned for further action. Any disruption in a city service or process can be reported as an incident which must be resolved as per SLAs. Furthermore, any personnel from any department will be able to raise incidents through the system. Vizag city is now mPowered by our Command Center Platform which is a significant step towards a smarter city.

Congratulations to our Smart Cities Solutioning team for successfully piloting the “City Command Center for Vizag Smart City.

Phoenix IT Solutions Ltd is now Fluentgrid Limited

We at Phoenix IT Solutions Ltd have been working with our partners in delivering our mPower™  based ICT solutions to our customers in energy & utilities and smart cities industry segments. We recently celebrated our 15th anniversary and we take this opportunity to thank our customers and partners who have supported us all along this journey.

phx to grid

Over the years, we extended our products and solution portfolio from CIS and CRM to smart metering, smart grids, enterprise solutions and now into smart cities. We also expanded our presence across multiple regions globally with offices in Asia, Middle East and USA. However, we are committed to focus on energy and utilities sector solutions, even in smart cities, and will continue do so with renewed vigour and thrust embracing new technology developments.

As a true reflection of our continued focus on energy and utilities products and solutions and our expanding reach to global markets, we decided to change our company name from Phoenix IT Solutions Limited to Fluentgrid Limited. The name Fluentgrid signifies smooth flow of utility services like power, water, gas, street lighting, sewage, solid waste, etc., through a network of intelligent grids.

We take this opportunity to assure that there is no other significant change except the change in our name. The new entity Fluentgrid Limited still continues to be under the same ownership and management structure with renewed focus on energy and utilities sector and we are committed to provide the same world class products, solutions and support services, on which we have built our reputation in the industry. Similarly all the current contracts and agreements remain unchanged.
